how do I contact eBay about a denied appeal over a return?
I returned a product that was defective. I used the shipping label provided by eBay for UPS. For an unknown reason, the package sat without being picked up at the location I dropped it off at for 4 days. In that 4 day window, the seller opened a case (in the middle of the night) which was decided in his favor 20 minutes later (also in the middle of the night), and the return was cancelled. I appealed the decision, providing tracking information to show that the product had been shipped, and eBay will not even allow me to speak to anyone regarding the issue-the chatbot just says my appeal was denied and the case was closed. The product was subsequently picked up and delivered to the seller. The seller will not respond to messages asking for a refund. How can I get through to an actual person at eBay to explain the situation and get the refund that was originally agreed to? I'm out the money for the product, and the seller has the product back....I have nothing. And to make matters worse, eBay refuses to publish the negative feedback I left for the seller, both for the poor quality of the product and the fact that he's ripping me off on the return. I don't want to have to get a lawyer involved, but one way or another someone's going to refund my money.

Here's how to contact eBay customer service:
eBay agents are working from home so you have to request a call back or live chat.
1. CLICK THIS LINK:
https://www.ebay.com/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid
2. Request a call back
If for some reason eBay doesn't approve the appeal then you will need to contact your funding source and show the tracking that proves that the defective item was returned to the seller.

OP2 years agoI've tried that link several times-it's the one that the eBay email responses claim will get me a call back. Problem is, once I choose the item in question that I want to speak to a representative about, the chatbot tells me that the appeal is closed and will not be reopened, and asks if there's anything else I need help with. It will not allow me to request a callback.

Mentor2 years ago@h2oskiphil I agree with @Anonymous that your funding source is your best option.
Here's another way to contact customer service.
Contact customer service by sending a PRIVATE message on social media. Customer service verifies your identity before responding.

·2 years agoPersonally, I would be in contact with my funding source, share with them the proof of the return (tracking), and dispute the transaction.
At this point, I think this is your best option.
