How did I get outbid?
I was bidding on a guitar and in the last hour was outbid. So I bid an amount, $2500 that comfortably put my ahead by $300 from the previous bidder. I was the high bidder,. I was watching and with 10 seconds left I was the high bidder. With one second left, I was the high bidder. Then the bidding closed and I lost? How is that possible.
The winning bidder was for $3100. I wasn't even given an opportunity to see their bid or counter. How does that happen?

Bidding during the final seconds of an auction is called ‘sniping’. It is considered the most effective method of bidding precisely because it leaves no time for anyone else to bid in reaction to the snipe.
I’m very sorry you lost the auction, and I hope you find your perfect guitar soon. 🙂
