How can you verify if a sale is legit?

I ask because I am interested in buying a car from a seller but the seller is talking about sending the car to my home instead of allowing me to pick the car up. This seems strange to me. How can I tell if this isn't a scam?

ebay has nothing to do with motor vehicles found on another website. ebay does not have a warehouse, does not ship to you for free to inspect and then ship it back if you don't like it. ebay does not accept ebay gift cards in payment for a motor vehicle.

If you don't find the motor vehicle listed ON ebay, with a 12 digit item number, that you either bid on or use the BUY IT NOW, the transaction is a SCAM. Stop communicating with the scammer. Report that "listing" to the website it is listed on.
