To find an eBay gift card balance you must first link the card to your eBay account.

Once linked, the gift card can only be used with that account.

OP11 months agoIf one is not sure of the balance, it makes it awkward to give the card as a GIFT. Security gone crazy.

Mentor11 months agoI would think that scratching the security coating off of a gift card would make it awkward to give as a gift after that, in any case.
Gift cards are quite often sought for fraudulent purposes, and lots of folks are defrauded by gift card schemes of one type or another. Reducing gift card fraud is a laudable goal, even if in practice that makes it harder to check the balance for legitimate purposes and then give the card as a gift.
