How can seller end no-reserve auctions in final seconds, denying bidders?
Summary: abaxteria is frustrated with a seller who ends auctions in the final seconds and falsely claims the item was sold, rather than setting a reserve price. Three times I've tried bidding during the last ten or so seconds of a listing, and each time, the seller (same seller for all listings) ends the auction before the clock winds down, claiming the item sold. The seller is NOT selling the items. He's just lying to bidders and pulling the item rather than set a reserve price.
This is a habit for the seller. I contacted eBay and was told too bad, so sad. That's a pretty stupid response for a site that's bleeding users now that there are alternatives. The seller won't respond to my inquiries, obviously. Please explain how this is okay. Am I breaking up with eBay? Has the corruption become the business model?

Mentor1 week agoeBay does not approve of cancelling auctions in the final moments, whether there's a reserve price or not.
Indeed, if there any bids at all, the System should not allow a seller to cancel an auction at all.
eBay does place "defects" on sellers' accounts for non-performance on a completed auction. Some sellers may falsely claim the item is Out of Stock.
I know it's frustrating and disappointing for buyers when/if that happens. You might feel better knowing that eBay does punish sellers.
