How can I dispute Ebay's shipping collection?
I entered the weight and package data accurately on the listing and set the shipping to calculate based on location, but Ebay undercharged the buyer by a few dollars. This is not the first time this has happened, so I'll be changing to a flat fee, but how do I dispute the undercharged amount for my sale? I've gone in circles with the chatbot.

OP4 months agoThank you, I appreciate the help. Unfortunately, the customer service rep suggested I try to collect the difference from the buyer. I don't feel comfortable with that, so I'll just use flat rates from now on.

Mentor4 months ago@fubarbarian. Sorry that the agent gave you bad advice. Per eBay policy you are not allowed to ask for more shipping than stated on the listing.
I hope you figure out what the problem is with shipping.

OP4 months agoThat is absolutely not what I did. The default setting is to calculate based on location and to get to flat rate, you have to click in directly to that tiny link to "Edit shipping cost" , select flat rate and set it, which I never did for anything until I revised listings today. You can't even accidentally set shipping to flat rate because it starts with a null value. Why would I set a rate at such an odd amount of $6.01 anyway? Something is really fishy about this.

Here's how to Contact Customer service ( You can use this option since it affects your bottom line )

Then Type PAYOUT in the chat bot box on the lower right. (Do not add any additional information)
Then AGENT after the bot responds. You might have to repeat those steps.

Unfortunately eBay is not going to refund you for the error.
As long as you enter the correct package dimensions and weight on the listing then the buyer is charged the correct shipping price for USPS when you select buyer pays> calculated shipping.
Avoid Fed Ex and UPS as they are known for adding surcharges and billing you later.
