How can an item go from being authentic to being a counterfeit when authentication is given

Selling an authentic Prada bag: I listed it 20ish days ago only with the invoice and Ebay authorized it as authentic. Today, I added three additional pictures, one of additional information, another the authentication card, and the price tag and now it has been flagged counterfeit. I have absolutely no clue what has happened. I did have someone offer me a very lowball offer and of course I declined it and now the purse is counterfeit. One, how in the world is it counterfeit when I have ALLL the info (oh and it's new in the box) and Two, can someone report it as counterfeit?

1) eBay didn't authorize it as authentic; they may have put the 'Authenticity Guarantee' check mark on the listing. That doesn't mean it's authentic; it means when it is sold, it will go to the authentication center to be authenticated. If fake, it would be returned to you.
2) Both companies and other users can report a listing.

OP3 weeks agoThank you for responding. I filled out an appeal and Ebay relisted it for me. I sold it this morning and its in route to an authenticator. I am fairly new to eBay so I didn't get the memo about the authenticity guarantee, but I did supply everything under the sun to them for authenticity. I feel very confident that the person that messaged me the offer (not in the official manner) and I did not accept and pointed out that messaging is not the official way to send offers, I have no doubt that it was them. It is what it is and it's going to a new home soon. Thanks again!!
