Horrible website!!! eBay never provided an explanation for why I did not get the item.
I'm not sure if this has ever happened to you, but from my experience, eBay is the worst website I've ever used to shop. And I use a lot of sites.
On April 29 of this year, I placed an eBay order. I continued monitoring the tracker, and everything was proceeding well up until May 5. And after that, this took place.
Upon many attempts to reach eBay (trust me, it's not that simple), they abruptly informed me that my account had been disabled and that I must be in the UK to unlock it. I attempted to explain to them that it was not feasible since my intention was to visit the UK just in September. Nobody is going to get on a plane and go to another country just to unlock their online account. Incidentally, in the current digital era, the self-respecting entity is unable to unlock your blocked account only because you are not in the country. This fact alone clarifies a lot, If you know what I mean. I was therefore politely declined assistance and given an explanation of the status of my purchase. When I repeatedly inquired to help me they recommended that I get in contact with the seller.
I spoke with the seller many times, provided them with all the details, and made it clear that I needed the goods and wasn't looking for a refund. I was aware from the very beginning that the item was un-refundable. But the response I would get every time was always the same: "Case closed, this item is not refundable." What is this supposed to mean? I wanted my item delivered; I didn't want a refund. All I wanted to know was why the thing hadn't arrived. Why is it the case?
Thus, no answer. That's it. I paid 500 pounds and received nothing, no refund, and—above all—no explanations.
P.S. The first thing I did when I got to London in September was give eBay a call. They eventually restored my account, but It was too late to place my complain. Apparently, you have just 90 days for this. The deadline passed, and with it my money, my purchase, and my faith in eBay.
I can see how they benefited from money they did not earn.
All I can say is that this is an horrible, horrible, horrible website. I will always express my negative opinions about this website on social media and I will never, ever recommend it to anybody.

OP2 years agoThank you very much, Dear @disneyshopper. The problem is that I tried many times to file a complaint, but my eBay account was blocked. I had an online conversation with someone from eBay, but I'm not sure if I was talking to an AI or a human. They seemed human, though 🙂 This meant that the only way to unlock my eBay account and find out what went wrong with my order was to pay $1500 for my flight and go to the UK. It looks like calling from the UK is the only way to contact them. It's the 21st century, not the 12th, right? :). However, when I finally reached London, it was already too late. And the problem is that I did not want my money back, I knew that this item is not refundable. I wanted to know what happend and what went wrong.
As for payment, I paid by credit card. So, I have nothing in my hands and I have to admit that there is nothing I can do except damage eBay's reputation.
Dyson Styler and 500 pounds are not nothing, and I can survive without either of them. The issue is that I feel as if no one is paying attention to me and that I am being humiliated and neglected. Furthermore, it causes much more harm and destruction than lost money or any other item.
Once again, thanks

Mentor2 years agoIt's been more than 6 months since you made your purchase. If Paypal cannot help, since they can only help if that is how you paid and it is not past 180 days. If you paid with a credit card, you can try filing a charge back. They might accept a chargeback past 180 days.

Mentor2 years agoGo to your Purchase History and locate the purchased item. What is the last estimated delivery date? You have up to 30 days past that date in order to file an Item Not Received case, to get your money back.
If it is past the 30 day limit, you will need to log into Paypal and file an
Item Not Received case there, if that is how you paid, as they allow up to 180 days from date of purchase to file, to get your money back.
If you paid with a credit card, file a charge back with your credit card issuer.
