holding funds from a sale

Question

I am finally closing my account. I cannot get eBay to explain why they hold funds on an item except for the excuse "it's a high value item". That's not acceptable. Upon saying I'm going to close it suggests I reach out to "community". Is everyone else experiencing this as well?

it is policy. If that is unacceptable, you should not have listed the item for sale. You havenâ€™t sold for a while, so any payment would be held for some amount of time.

High priced items or unusual selling patterns may lead to transaction holds for up to 30 days to help us ensure that buyers don't have any issues with the order

How about, you haven't sold in awhile and it's a high priced item.

Payment holds isn't new.

Your treated like a new seller and it sold for more then $1000, so yes, they are going to hold the funds for 30 days.
