Holding a paid item for buyer...
Summary: queencitysquishmallows2 is facing a dilemma with a buyer who wants to bundle additional items after purchasing one. They are concerned about eBay Seller Metrics if they delay shipping but also worry about losing the additional sale and potentially receiving a negative review. mr_lincoln suggests either canceling the order using a specific reason and communicating with the buyer, or shipping the item with a note offering a refund or discount on a bundle as a thank you if the buyer proceeds with purchasing more items.
I have a buyer who purchased an item last week Friday. After he purchased he sent me a message he wanted to bundle another 4-5 items and asked me to hold it. I sent him a message, Saturday letting him know I can wait until Monday morning, but it will affect my seller status if it is not scanned in on Monday. I sent him another message last night and never heard back. Do you ship or continue to hold item? I dont want a defect, but I also don't want to upset the buyer, lose the additional sale on the other items he said he wanted and get a bad review in the process. Any advice would be great!

Sadly, eBay Seller Metrics are to blame for Sellers not being able to construct their own deals with their own items for their own customers.
Cancel using the reason Problem with address and message the Buyer letting them know that because of eBay Seller Metrics and their lack of giving Sellers flexibility in constructing deals they will have to purchase their items at the same time.
OR
Ship the item with a note and duplicate message that if they Bundle other items you will refund an amount off the first item or the Bundled items as a way of thanks.
