Hit' Marked as Paid' in Error. Buyer bid but can not pay.

Question

I sold a sweater on Jan 8th. In error I hit the 'mark as paid'. I contacted the buyer and explained what had happened. She informed me that she was unable to pay and to cancel the transaction. I am unable to cancel the transaction. I contacted Ebay and explained the situation. They told me only the buyer can cancel. I informed the buyer and asked her to please cancel. She will not cancel because she thinks it will reflect negative on her account. I am left stuck with the item listing telling me to ship. Any ideas on how to resolve?

Hi, I just did this myself, and here is what I know from working with eBay.

1) There used to be an 'unmark as paid' that you could click. That has been gone for some time

2) You can't unmark as paid, and the buyer can no longer pay.

3) I've been unable to cancel the sale.

4) My order is in awaiting shipment, but there is no date, and it does not appear to be a late shipment. It is marked as late tracking.

5) I was assessed FVF by eBay when I marked it as shipped.

6) It's not possible to ship since there is no buyer address.

If your buyer wants the item:

- Relist it (sell similar)

- Have the buyer pay for the new item

- Ship

3) Use eBay's social media customer service to get assistance.

After explaining what happened, ask eBay to refund your FVF, since there was no sale.
