Help! A buyer paid for an item and I shipped it. After 2 weeks he had not received the package and requested a refund. I put a trace on the package and amazingly they found it. It has a damaged label and USPS is holding it until I give them the address. Since I had already issued a refund I asked the buyer to repurchase (at a big discount for his trouble). Buyer is insisting he won't pay until he receives the package and that he will pay me using PayPal after I request the money. This isn't allowed on ebay and he seems to refuse any other solution. Suggestions on how to handle this.

OP1 year agoThanks for replying. There is a final twist to this case. After I asked for the package to be traced I got a message that the package had been found. They claimed it was USPS asking where to send the item. After looking into it I discovered that this was a scam to get personal information and that the USPS never texts something like this. In the end—the package is lost. I have reported the scam to USPS who speaking about this scam on their website.

Mentor1 year agoYou stated you already refunded the buyer, so he has been made whole. I would tell the post office to return the package back to you, and then you can file an insurance claim if you sent the package using any method except media mail (since MM doesn't include insurance coverage unless you pay extra for it). The buyer can then purchase the item from any other seller.
