HELP with debit card payment methods
I am going out of my mind! I have recently attempted to become a seller of several small items on EBay but, since I have no back account or credit card, I intended to use one of current debit cards. Both were rejected as not being supported by Ebay. And so, I called EBay customer service and was advised to get a Paypal debit card. I did this, attempted to register it as my payment method, and was again told "this card is not supported". So, I called customer service again and was advised to get a Chime card. I did so, and then I was accepted by EBay. My first item sold, and I recieved a message from Ebay that I had to have at least a $400 balance on my Chime card to use it. So, I borrowed $400 from a friend, put it on the Chime card and once mroe attempted to receive my payment. Then I was told by Ebay that I have to verify my bank info. I went through an all day process of providing personal and financial information online only to be told that my Chime card "is not supported" and was then suggested to that I get a Paypal card. What the h**l?! Can someone please help me figure this out? Ebay's customer service line is either worthless or worse - the AI voice tells me it is not in business hours, although it very much is. I have items being "Sold" and customers being rejected because of this mess. Please HELP!

Mentor7 months agoYou need a checking account in a brick & mortar bank in order to get paid. Look around your region. Many banks do offer either free checking accounts or ones that require a low minimum balance.

First, make sure the registered name on ebay matches exactly to the name on your checking account. You can make any changes here:
My ebay > Summary > Account > Personal information
Make sure you supply a physical street address. You can change to your P.O. box later.

Mentor7 months agoWhoever you spoke with was NOT Ebay. Ebay does not have a direct phone line, so any phone number you found via an internet search is a phony number, leading to scammers. You cannot use a Paypal or Chime card to accept payouts from Ebay.
You need to have a checking account on file with Ebay in order to receive payouts from your sales.

Mentor7 months agoThe Managed Payments System only allows for you to verify a checking account with a Brick & Mortar bank and not an Internet bank. Once you verify a checking account you can add a debit card for payouts but this method has a fee for each payout. I have no idea why customer service is telling you what they have since those options will not work with the Managed Payments System.
