Help with counterfeit items
Summary: scouncil2028 shared their experience of purchasing TPMS sensors from a seller on eBay, which were later flagged as counterfeit by a programming device. All four sensors had the same serial number, and the seller did not respond to inquiries. Although eBay removed the listing, scouncil2028 feels more should be done to verify sellers and is seeking advice, acknowledging they should have acted sooner. Despite only losing $65, they note that the low price should have been a warning sign.
I bought this product...

From this store:

... back in May of 2026. I waited until Sept to initialize and program these Autel TPMS sensors with the Autel TS508 programmer device. The device flagged all four as being counterfeit, and all four had the same serial number - C970EL4P3C001654.
I contacted the seller, and of course there was no response. eBay's scam-bot read my report to eBay and all that it did was remove this exact item I had already bought from the store... which does no good.
It was my fault waiting 5 months to ensure that these TPMS sensors were valid, but eBay should put in additional effort to contact and verify the issue with the store.
I'm only down $65 - and the low price for 4 new TPMS sensors of this model should have been a red flag. This store has/had lots of other too-cheap, branded new items for sale.
Any advice?
Thanks,
slc
