Help with Apple Counterfeit Purchase - Cannot contact Ebay
I purchased a pair of Apple Airpods Pro Gen2 in April of 2025. I had Apple Care Plus on them and the left earbud recently started draining quickly and would not always charge up. Granted, these show up on my apple account and also show the coverage. I got a message from the Authorized Apple Repair Center that they could not repair or replace because they were not authentic. I asked what that meant and he said they were counterfeit and I could pick them up. The seller is no longer a registered seller, so when I try to report the seller and item it comes back and says, "invalid item number". I know it has been almost a year and if I hadn't have had them on Apple Care it wouldn't sting as bad. I believe this would be covered under Ebay Buyer protection but can't get ahold of anyone to even discuss it. Any thoughts or words of wisdom?

You have waited far too long for help from eBay, and likely too long for help from your payment method as far as getting your money back.
If the seller is no longer registered, reporting the seller will serve no purpose.

OP6 months agoPretty much what I figured but no harm in asking. Thanks for taking the time for the feedback. I still find it odd that Apple recognizes them when paired just as any other set of Airpods and recognizes the serial number electronically. I know counterfeit has come a long way, but they seem like a legitimate product from every aspect, other than an apple tech. He is the subject matter expert though...
