HELP WITH A RETURN!
Summary: carreannjoe experienced issues with a seller who charged shipping fees despite promising otherwise and found the sewing machine feet incompatible with their machine. Attempts to dispute the charges with eBay faced communication challenges and unrecorded disputes. comics-scifi-collectibles advised opening a return request, emphasizing the 'doesn't match description' reason. After contacting customer service, carreannjoe returned all items using one return order but only received confirmation for one item's refund. They are now considering disputing the remaining charges through their payment method, frustrated by the seller's lack of response and eBay's process.
I purchased 4 sewing machine feet from a BIG seller on here ...
They CLEARLY stated to me there was no shipping.
I got charged shipping anyway.
I pointed this out, showed him his own words .. I think he was screwing with me because we went back and forth so many times to the point where I had to accept that he was toying with me or something.
I tried reaching an ebay customer service rep. I did a chat with an agent and they claimed there were filing a dispute. Gave me a reference number, even. When I click on check the status of a dispute, it tells me there are NONE. I then tried having an agent call me. The call never came.
I've re-reached out to the seller to just return all 4 sewing machine feet, back in the same ONE box they arrived in. I don't want to pay a return shipping fee for each item like the return is currently suggesting. I was going to 'eat' the fact that they LIED and said there would be no shipping charges because I don't have the energy for this game anymore. It's time consuming and very frustrating and Ebay is IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH.
I reached out to this deceptive seller and advised I would purchase my own shipping label and if there was any return code or anything I might need before doing that.
NO RESPONSE IN DAYS.
Can I just print off my own shipping label, rebox them in the box they arrived in, and send it back? I'm afraid I won't get my refund and I can't seem to reach a LIVE person with ebay.
Please help

Mentor3 weeks ago@carreannjoe If they were purchased from the SAME listing then you file ONE not as described return request. Let me know if they were purchased from SEPERATE listings that the seller combined as that is handled differently.
The seller pays return shipping when the description doesn't match what is stated.
The eBay Money Back Guarantee over rules the sellers return policy. You have 30 days from the date of delivery to file a not as described return request for most categories. Trading cards, bullion, coins, paper money, and items that are sold as not working or for parts you only have 3 days from the date of delivery to file a refund request case.
Here's what you need to do:
You should open a Return Request. Reason> Doesn't Match photos and description
Select the return item button on this page:
https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/return-item-refund?id=4041&st=
4 business days after filing the return request if the seller has not provided a return shipping label or a full refund then ask eBay to step in and help: https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/ask-ebay-to-step-in?id=4701
Let me know if you need to return an item to another country as there are additional steps required. The seller pays return shipping for an item that is not as described no matter where they are located.

OP3 weeks agoThey were purchased from the same listing that had 4 different size options. I ordered all 4 sizes and they told me they'd discount if I bought more than one (which I did) and then when I inquired about combined shipping, he told me there was no shipping. When I placed the order, each item was discounted to give me the lower rate for buying more than one, but then I was charged $17.20 in shipping charges. I gave them my machine model number to ensure they'd work with my machine, and they don't. So now I have the shipping I was told I didn't have to pay to deal with - which I havent' been able to accomplish - and now I just want to return the 4 items back in the ONE box they arrived in. I'm getting return instructions individually a the option to purchase return shipping labels for EACH one. I spent half a day being passed around to 'customer' service with ebay on chat, and in the end, there is NO record of any of it. So - I need to do the above steps you mentioned? That is the correct route for this situation? The seller is no even responding to me! It's so wild!

Mentor3 weeks ago@carreannjoe If you follow my steps does it let you open ONE return case?
If not then if you have to return the items separately you could get boxes from the grocery store etc for the other 3.
I know that this is more work for you but it will be a major lesson to the seller as they will have to pay return shipping for EACH box. Be sure to select doesn't match description.

OP3 weeks agoHI, so I finally got a live person on the phone. I had made the mistake of going in and canceling the returns on the other 3 (because there was one return in place that the 'chat' agent set up that he told me was just a sort of holding protocol while my dispute was being reviewed - turns out, there IS no dispute, but I digress. So I left that one alone, and canceled the other thinking I could go right back in and request a return for each with the proper return reason of ' item didn't match description' like you said. Well, I couldn't do that! The live agent informed me in the future not to cancel the return and she then proceeded to tell me because I had one return still open (the initial one the guy from the chat set up) that she could use this. So she said return all 4 in one box and snap pics showing the tracking and all 4 in one box .. then once it's arrived the seller has 2 days to give me a FULL refund. Well, that initial open return was showing just for ONE of the feet so I'm a little concerned. I already got a notification that my refund was initiated which must have generated once the tracking info showed I sent it back. I am going to track the arrival of the package and wait and see if the seller refunds me the FULL amount because at the moment it's only showing an early refund for ONE of the items. There are all 4 in there that I paid for. And .. the seller? STILL has not responded to me. Crazy!

Mentor3 weeks ago@carreannjoe The system is only going to see that ONE item was returned so eBay can't force a refund for more than one item.
You can try contacting customer service after the seller gets the items back and see what luck you have, but I don't think it will work.
You may have to dispute the other ones with your payment method. Just be sure to save all tracking info and photos of what you returned.

OP2 weeks agoOMG .. great. How do I BLAST this seller to make it count? I already know nothing I do will matter. What a nighhtmare this has been!

Mentor2 weeks ago@carreannjoe If you do end up have to file a charge back that will hurt the sellers account. Plus they get charged a $20 dispute fee.
