Help with a buyer.
the buyer has aggressively opened several cases aggressively demanding a refund, even since before the item arrived to him.
I have received many emails and messages from eBay for each different case the buyer has opened. These message referring to different cases are often contradictory and I am now unsure what I am supposed to do.
I am being told to respond to the buyer, as well a being told to do nothing as eBay is sorting out the return , as well az the case has been closed and no further action is needed.
I need help and to know where I stand here. I have reached out for help from eBay but am getting nowhere and no reply back to me.
I listed this item as no refunds but immediately once the auction finished the customer said he couldn’t pay. Before I had a chance to react he changed his mind and paid.
I posted the item and even though delivery had been attempted the buyer opened an undelivered item case and demanded his money back. Delivery was attempted the next day but still the buyer missed it and demanded I refund him.
The buyer then collected the item from Rotal Mail and immediately opened another case to demand a refund saying the product was not as described. He said there was a fault with the phone. There was no fault with phone when I sent it out but I did offer him a discount of 10% for goodwill. He rejected this and demanded I pay for the phone repair.
I reached out to eBay for help and through chat I was told to.wait a few days before they could help.
In the mean time I got a message saying the case was closed and no action was required.
The buyer then opened up another case demanding a refund as the item was not as described. I messaged eBay for help and reported a problem with the buyer. I never heard anything back from this.
I then got a series of contracting messages from eBay saying the buyer is entitled to a refund but I do nothing and eBay will arrange it and the case is closed, then another one asking for me to reply to the buyers request for a refund. And finally a one saying to wait until eBay have looked into my reporting of the buyer.
I have been a member of eBay for 22 years now and never had any trouble like this before. I think the buyer, whose account is not very old and has given another seller a similar experience, is simply trying to abuse eBay’s processes as he made a buying error. An error which could have been easily resolved at the start either if he read the listing properly or let me help him when the auction finished.
