Help needed for new seller
Summary: grad452 sold a Pokemon card, but the buyer claimed it was fake, initiated a bank refund, and retained the card, leaving grad452 without either the card or funds. Despite following eBay's procedures, eBay sided with the buyer. stuff4divas suggested contacting eBay through Instagram, while comics-scifi-collectibles empathized, explaining that once a buyer involves their bank, eBay loses control, and recommended writing off the loss for tax purposes.
I sold a Pokemon card in June and the buyer claimed it as fake even tho I sent proof front and back of it before hand . He went through his bank to get the refund and eBay has had my funds on hold the last two months . I accepted the buyers return and provided a shipping label and let him know once it’s shipped back a refund will be issued . He refused to return it and eBay sided with him . Now I’m out 1000$ and can’t even get ahold of eBay . What do I do? I did everything eBay asked me to do and still lost my card

Mentor1 month ago@grad452 I am so sorry that happened. Unfortunately once the buyer goes to their funding source it is out of eBay's hands.
If a buyer files an eBay not as described return request ALWAYS accept the return. Issue the return label and refund after you get the item back. eBay does side with the buyer on eBay Money Back Guarantee return cases.
All you can do is write the loss off on your taxes.
