Help! I didn’t use eBay label/QR and I never got paid
So, I sell sports cards and when the card or small lot of 4 or 5 sells for only a couple bucks, no buyer wants to pay $4.50 for USPS Ground Advantage, and I sure am not gonna eat the difference, because what would be the point of selling the cards for zero profit? Also - I don’t own a printer so, follow me please. I charge $1.25 shipping but when it comes to buying an eBay label, they DO NOT offer a QR option for the $1.25 “standard eBay envelope†option (which is perfect for cheap baseball cards and fits it too). And fro printer so I’ve opted to pay out of pocket with no tracking, obviously, because what $1.25 shipping service would include shipping? So stuff i sold Jan4 I still haven’t been paid for. When I called eBay the foreign man said to “ask the buyer to send you a pic of the package received, then send to us.†This doesn’t seem correct, as what if the buyer doesn’t want to or can’t and then..they get my item for free? Help please !

Mentor1 year agoDid ebay send you notice the item was paid for and ok to ship? If so and you did no use ebay shipping or otherwise have a tracking number to upload, you will have to wait the entire hold period for payment.

OP1 year agoI appreciate your reply and I’m sure you’re right I have to wait. I just wish eBay would fix this - meaning…there IS a $1.25 “eBay standard envelope†option when shipping a lightweight single baseball card, yet even when you choose this option, there is NO QR code, only print a label and there’s no tracking. I wonder if the wait would be as long if I use this $1.25 print their label versus paying out of pocket for first class myself. Because when I’ve done this paying out of pocket option and skipping eBay label, I’ve sent items Jan4 and I’m STILL waiting! Outrageous! I don’t expect tracking w/a cheap $1.25 service, but then eBay should have a way to track whether or not the buyer received the item or not. What is waiting extra time gonna do? If the buyer didn’t submit an inquiry as to the whereabouts of their item, then, the seller should be paid!

Mentor1 year agoWhile there is no QR code for the Standard Envelope option, you can only get this type of label through ebay and it does have a form of tracking ebay uses to access your performance and payment time.

OP1 year agoOooooh I did not know this. I tried the printed label once and didn’t see a tracking number on it. Well this option seems MUCH better than simply paying out of pocket and sending first class because I’m waiting to be paid after over 3 weeks, and when I click to get a payout status, it says eBay holds funds to make sure customers are satisfied w/purchase. I already knew eBay is heavily slanted in favor of buyers, but to give them THIS much time is outrageous because there’s NO first class mail that takes 3 weeks to be delivered ! There should be a better way for eBay to confirm that the buyer received packaged and is satisfied (even though I don’t accept returns unless card is damaged due to my fault packaging it)
