Help: eBay took money out of checking account due to a cancelled order from a buyer.
eBay took money out of checking account due to a cancelled order from a buyer. The buyer cancelled the order immediately after paying for the item and I accepted the cancellation so the item was never shipped. The funds would not have been send to my account since we don't get paid until well after the item is delivered and received. After looking at the account details, it says I didn't have funds to cover the refund but those funds would have still be pending with ebay since again I would not have received compensation for that sale. How do I get in touch with eBay directly (over the phone would be preferrable). The virtual assistant was not helpful and just kept giving me options that implied she wasn't understanding the situation. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

You may want to consider adding an alternative payment method to your account for refunds if you do not have sufficient funds in your bank account.
When the buyer's payment clears you will receive those funds, leaving you back where you started.

OP7 months agoThank you so much as it's helpful to know that they're reverse that charge and put the $ back in to my bank account. My checking account did have sufficient funds as that's where they drew from I just wasn't sure why it didn't come out of the funds that were on hold with eBay since they would have still been sitting there especially since the item was canceled and not shipped to immediately.
Do you think I need to reach out to eBay or just wait a few days to see if the phones get rerouted back to my checking?
Thanks again.

Mentor7 months agoThe funding should sort itself out without needing to call, but there may be a few days where funds are held before they are released.
