HELP, Amazon requiring a six-digital code instead of a signature.
I ordered from eBay. Amazon is trying to deliver the package 2 days in a row. They are requiring a six-digit code instead of a signature. I contacted the seller and they repeated the answer to sign with my last 2 digits of my cell phone number. The delivery person will only accept the 6-digit code, not a signature. I called Amazon...no help.

That's a new one to me ...
You never ever have to provide that information when buying from eBay when the seller ships to you directly. Not sure if this is some kind of a scam or a Seller trying to use a form of Drop shipping with Amazon products.
What does the tracking history show on the item in your Purchase history??? There should be a tracking number. Purchases | My eBay | eBay

OP8 months agoMy purchase history shows that the item has been paid and will be delivered soon. I have no idea what is going on. I have never had to have a six-digit code for any of my purchases. Obviously, the seller used amazon for the delivery service. While standing at the door with my cell phone, amazon sends me a message, that I never receive. I did not set up a code for delivery. Amazon said to contact eBay. Ugg. Guess I will have to cancel the delivery.

The ONLY 6 digit code I am aware of is when an eBay listing is sold with Local Pickup, the Buyer is given a 6 digit code on the order details AND a QR code, either can be used to give to the Seller when they do the Pickup exchange. If the original listing shows Local pickup only then that could be the could but I suspect you paid for shipping when you purchased and the listing would show that even in your Purchase history.
To me this is a Seller Amazon issue NOT and eBay issue. I don't know if cancelling the delivery will help as far as eBay is concerned.
You cannot Cancel the transaction, you can request that the Seller cancel for you but I doubt they will do that since the item has supposedly been shipped. I am going to Tag another Mentor to see if they can shed any light on this strange requirement.

Have you ever heard of an item purchased through eBay but delivered by Amazon and they require a 6 digit code from the Buyer or they will not leave the package?

I have never bought from a seller that drop ships since I know the red flags to look for .
@stylininky your only option may be a not received refund request. Since tracking doesn't show delivery you will win the case. You can file the refund request when it is one day PAST the last estimated delivery date.
Can you please share the item number or link to the listing so we can see exactly how the listing was set up.
I agree that the only 6 digit code is for local pick up. I can't imagine Amazon getting in the middle of a delivery and collecting an eBay code.
Edit to add:
I Googled and see that Amazon does require a 6 digit code for high value items.

OP8 months agoI have been on the phone with customer service twice today. No one can help me. Because I did not order from Amazon, they have no way to track the package. So, I am at a loss.

Mentor8 months ago@stylininky just make sure it doesn't show an 'attempted' delivery with you refusing the delivery, otherwise u will lose all buyer protections from ebay
