I purchased an item that I thought was wood. It turned out to be cloth. There were no details on the item. To return the item the seller wants almost as much as the cost of the items to ship back. Do I have any recourse? eBay is impossible to reach for help! Have I been scammed

OP2 years agoThere was just a picture. But I did look further and it said seller will pay for free returns, so why are they telling me I have to pay

OP2 years ago25-11325-95013. Seller contacted me offering 5% of price if I keep items. Also on sellers page it said, seller pays for free returns

If there was NO material designation on the listing then talking to eBay will not do any good. If there was a "wood" material designation and you got cloth you can file an Item not as described - does not match pictures or description return claim. You will get a pre paid shipping label and send the item back to the Seller. Once they receive it they will have 2 days to refund, failing that you go back to the claim and ask eBay to step in and force the refund.
You always have the option to contact Sellers and ask them questions before you purchase.
