Hello! Question about potential scam and how to avoid in the future?
Hello, I recently received this email. This person purchased this item yesterday. It was a digital item so it was delivered to them yesterday too, but it looks like they deleted their account today to avoid having the transaction go through. There is no way for me to get this digital good back, is there anyway to prevent this in the future?

Thank you so much for clearing that up! I misunderstood what the message was saying to me, I thought it was saying that there would be no payment since the user closed their account. Thank you again!

As described in the message, eBay won’t take the payment back from you, so you don’t need to try to recover the item.
eBay deleted the buyer’s account due to the ‘issue’ - the buyer did not close his account.
There’s really no way to avoid situations like this. Thankfully, they don’t happen often.
