hate seven day check out to pay

Question

I don't know about the rest of you sellers...

but I HATE the seven day automatic "still shopping" until payment is made.

Puts us in a bad spot, waiting, waiting, waiting not just to see if the payment will be made, but if we'll learn that we have yet another deadbeat buyer who has no intention to pay.

*Can that be disabled?

*How can I cancel a sale if payment is not made within three or four days.

Much appreciate any advice.

@tea-and-crumpets If buyers are being allowed 7 days to pay then they provided their payment method before making a bid and will be automatically charged at the end of 7 days unless they checkout sooner.

If you want to require buyers to provide a payment method before bidding BUT do want to allow the buyer to keep shopping for 7 days then you need to NOT allow invoices on this page> https://www.ebay.com/ship/prf Then the payment method that was provided will be charged one hour after sale.

Autopay is when you as a seller require buyers to provide a payment method before making a bid or offer.

The setting is in buyer requirements in account settings> https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements

If you require buyers to provide a payment method prior to bidding AND allow combined shipping in your account settings then the buyer may choose to keep bidding for 7 days before paying. This is a change that many auction sellers asked for. You can read about the 7 days to pay for combined shipping on auctions here>

ebay opted all sellers into auto-pay. Buyers who wanted to make multiple auction purchases didn't like having to pay full shipping, and sellers were inconvenienced having to make partial refunds. So, ebay decided to let buyers pay at the end of 7 days in order to make it easier for both buyers and sells to make multiple purchases and pay one time.

You can opt OUT of auto-pay if you want the buyers to pay within 4 days. On day 5, you can file a cancellation for Buyer didn't pay.

Sellers can opt OUT of auto pay in their Buyer Requirements. I opted out because I want to encourage my buyers to make multiple purchases for a discount on combined shipping.
