Has anyone had experience with seler who "intercepted" delivery of item back to its own address?
Summary: The discussion centers around an inquiry by msz51 about experiences with a seller who "intercepted" a delivery, redirecting it back to their address. evry1nositswindy responds multiple times, engaging with msz51, but no specific details or solutions are shared in the content. jacbarcollectibles also joins briefly, but their input is not detailed in the content. Overall, the discussion lacks specific testimonies or resolutions regarding the issue.
Hello, I purchased the item with Buy it now option. Item was mailed ( as per trucking history). Once it arrived to my local post office it was "intercepted" and redirected to be mailed back. The seller informed me that he/she did requested it from the postal service and will refund me. What is that ????? I am going to the post office to ask more details. Looks like even when it is officially with the carrier you may not be sure you will receive item you paid for.

OP4 months agoIt looks like trucking disappeared as it was just delivered ( as per my e-mail notification). I have pdf file but it won't upload. Will try to change to other format supported by e-bay.

Mentor4 months agoIt tells me that the tracking number isn't available when I look at it. At least you got your money back. The seller did pay for that, why? who knows. If it was a new seller, they might have been nervous. I have had a lot of packages take a long time or 'take the scenic route' but I've never intercepted. You can leave factual feedback if you wish.

Mentor4 months agoDo you see a "loop" when you click on the tracking number? Never heard that one before.

OP4 months agoYes, I do see the whole trucking. I am not sure if I can upload the trucking number here so you can pull it up as it shows the address of the sender and mine. I do not mind my address but sender??? I will try to copy it and delete this info but I don't know how to attache the file to this "conversation":.

OP4 months agoO.K. File does not have exact address so I believe it is fine to post it here #9400108106245154861236. I was not able to upload a file I copied so it is directly from the usps.
I hope it is only possible with parcels with trucking number as it shows on my eBay feed as delivered ( not to my address ). Pretty scary. Still shows on the trucking history.

Mentor4 months agoI agree with @jacbarcollectibles . It was probably an error with another package and not a trick. There is a $20 fee plus additional postage. It cost the seller big time.

This is the message from the seller; Red flag - considering that parcel was going "according to schedule".
If it was an honest mistake why not to say it. When I asked why it can't be delivered. Silence. The refund was initiated when the seller was sure that parcel is diverted from my local post office.

Mentor4 months agoI'm not sure why the seller would have done this, but you are protected by the eBay 30 day money back guarantee. Has the estimated delivery date passed on your purchase history? If so, you can open a case of item not received. The seller would have 3 business day to prove delivery with tracking or refund you. If not, on the 4th day, return to the case and ask eBay to step in. They will force a refund. Do not let the case time out.
The seller had to pay for an intercept, so it may have been something serious. It could be that they switched two package labels. You wouldn't believe how many times we read this! They can refund you when the package comes back to them without you opening a case. But keep an eye on your dates to make sure you get your money back!

OP4 months agoYou are right looks to me that seller spent a lot of efforts to stop the delivery. Fortunately the refund was issued but I lost additional money getting other matching items to go with this purchase, which are now useless.
Lesson learned: purchase is not yours until you have the item in your hand. Another "shady" seller spoiling e-bay experience. First time this "trick" in 10+ years.

Mentor4 months agoYou are blaming the seller for tricking you. As mentioned this may not be the case if they sent you the wrong item. Doing this cost the seller the intercept fee which is not cheap. Unless there is a real good reason there is no point in the seller doing this to a buyer.
