Harassing new zero feedback bidders, created to deadbeat my selling items, why can't I block zeros
I continually have a problem with new bidders that bid up my items and are always deadbeats. I believe this is intentional, retaliatory conduct by a forum member who I have a disagreement with.
The account is created the day before, the Feedback rating is immediately set to PRIVATE and they bid only on my items. They win but never pay. I wish ebay would allow me to block Zero feedback bidders because these seem to only be torpedos and complaining to ebay does nothing about sellers being harassed
After a few of these deadbeat wins I detected a pattern and started a spreadsheet

Mentor2 years agoI'm providing information about the settings you DO have available to you. You can choose to use those or not. I don't work for eBay and cannot address what tools eBay has NOT developed or why.
Until you are rolled into auto-pay, you can list as fixed price only with immediate payment required as another option. That way, the item isn't sold until it's paid for.

OP2 years agoThank you,
While you are 100% correct when you say
"Block buyers who caused 2 cancellations of unpaid purchases within 12 months"
the buyers never last that long and always get removed by ebay.
The account is created, feedback hidden as (Private), 10 of my auctions are won/torpedo'ed, buyer never pays, and then the account is removed from ebay.
This is focused, intentional, and deliberate.
A lot of effort by somebody to thwart a single seller's auctions.

OP2 years agoThank you very much
One odd thing is that each of these new accounts immediately makes their feedback Private
Oh yeah, I know the "4day Cancel and Report" Drill but that is 9-10 winsfrom each and the account is then tanked. Over 10+ fakes that means about 100 actions on my part. See where I am going with this?
Not my biggest concern in the world but just wondering if software can alleviate a nuisance.
Seems not so on ebay, Sellers get harassed and you just gotta take it

OP2 years agoHey, I went to my Sellers page and wonder if this is a way to limit new bidders with zero feedback to only one win ? I know I don't get to block them completely but it is better than 10 wins deadbeated
All opinions welcome

Mentor2 years agoHi @greenseal_frn_sales
Limiting the number of items a buyer can buy within 10 days will certainly help.
You should also check the box to Block buyers who caused 2 cancellations of unpaid purchases within 12 months (change 1 to 12 for maximum protection). That way repeat offenders won't be able to bid/buy.

You are not allowed to post other member's user i.d.s on this board.
0 feedback bidders are not the only Ebay members that don't pay.
When a buyer does not pay, cancel the transaction after 4 days of non-payment have passed, specify "buyer didn't pay".
All unpaid items are recorded on a buyer's account. Buyers who have excessive unpaid items, or canceled transactions, may have limits imposed, or lose their buying privileges.
Place the non-paying buyers on your Blocked Buyer List:

Set your buyer requirements to block buyers who caused cancellations of 2 unpaid purchases within 12 month(s).

·2 years agoBe sure to wait at least four days and then cancel the sale due to buyer not paying. That is one way to remove deadbeat buyers.
If the trend that you are portraying is that all the deadbeats have "private" feedback, you may have exposed a typical MO. I would also suggest that you click their bidding activity in your bid history to see how many other auctions are involved in their interference. Most on your list have already been removed from eBay.
You are certainly allowed to cancel bids prior to end of auction. That simply shifts the Unpaid item to the next seller.
https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/listings/selling-auctions/canceling-bid?id=4140
Fortunately, eBay is working on a method to eliminate this activity. eBay has already tested, and is now enforcing, prepayment (autopay) on offers, and is testing the same autopay on bidding. As a seller, autopay is already enabled at the bottom of your Buyer Requirements page:
https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements
However, autopay is only assigned to some bidders during the testing stage. Once the kinks are ironed out, "autopay" will roll out to all bidders.

·2 years agoIt's not possible to block 0 feedback buyers because we all started at 0 .
Without new buyers eBay would stop.
