Handling a unique Seller Product issue
I purchased a refurbished Dell laptop that worked fine for a couple months and then gave me an error message that the battery was not a Dell battery and may cause charging and recharging damage, fire or other issues. Appears the seller put a battery in that wasn't dell. I reached out to seller about this and they offered me half the price of a dell battery. I rejected the offer, stating that the item was shipped and described as having a dell battery, therefore they owed me a dell battery for the lack of disclosure otherwise. They then came back and said "well, it's past the warranty and return period." To which I said "it's not a return or a warranty issue...it's that you sent the wrong product." they stopped replying, so I filed a complaint with Ebay and got a message on March 20 saying "thanks for your report, we're looking into it." when I try every option to follow up, as I've heard nothing...I get sent in endless automated loops where they state there is no case open, there is no product eligible for return or escalation within the return period, etc. and NO WAY POSSIBLE to be connected to an agent.
I went through the auto system and got a passcode, called and they said go online and get help...via recorded message...which every option online doesn't account for this situation where they send me the product not as described and purchased in a way that wasn't discoverable until after the 90 day window. It appears to me they do that on purpose so they buyer never has the chance to find the problem...but why isn't Ebay responding to me at all and no way to contact or message them on this topic?
