handling a repeat non paying member
I have a member who won an auction and did not pay. I had to relist the item. Soon after I noticed the same member won 2 more auctions. I looked at their feedback and found that they had complaints about this before. I blocked them but they are still able to bid on auctions. I'm tired of wasting my time with this. Why are they even allowed on eBay?
Thank you

OP2 years agoThanks. That was helpful. I understand people are presumed innocent but in this case they had been flagged on this before. They were a non-payer and I had blocked them. The block should take place whether they are currently bidding on another item or not. Now I have 3 items I'll have to resubmit. Which will waste time and money. 2nd chance offers rarely work.

·2 years agoBlocking a buyer does not cancel any bid already submitted, just as cancelling a bid does not block the buyer. If s/he still had bids pending you needed to cancel them on each active auction.

·2 years agoCheck the spelling of his/her ID on your Block Bidder/Buyer List vs the ID of the bidder on the bids that came after you added him/her. Set your Buyer Requirements to block anyone with 2 or more transactions cancelled for not paying in the past 12 months. And of course cancel for non-payment after 4 full calendar days (and don't leave a positive feedback with a negative comment).
They are "allowed" because people are presumed innocent. If sellers cancel for other reasons or don't cancel eBay doesn't know there is a problem in a way they can act on it (counting the cancellation towards the block, reducing their buying limits). Kicking people off is a last resort.
