Had to issue refund due to USPS
Summary: dave-klotz expressed frustration over having to issue a refund for a trading card that was lost during shipping. The tracking showed it stalled at a local USPS distribution center, and they were confused about how to claim insurance through eBay, which was supposed to cover up to $20. They also found eBay's help pages confusing. lisa5768 responded by providing a link to eBay's claim page for standard envelopes, directing them to where they could file a claim.
I sold a trading card and was forced to issue a refund because it was not delivered. The tracking information shows it entering the local USPS distribution center but the tracking just stopped there. I understand the customer needs to be reimbursed but I thought that Ebay either provided or facilitated up to $20 of insurance on mailed items. I don't understand what the point of this insurance is if it is not able to be collectged. And Ebay provides links for contacts for every situation but it goes to a page that is one big fing riddle to findout how to get information instead of taking me to where I need to go. I am sure this happens a lot so I don't understand why it is so difficult to be able to find out how this is supposed to work. Anyway, if anyone can help, thanks.

Here is the page with the info and link to open a claim for ESE envelopes. Scroll down to the file a claim section.
