Ground Advantage (with Hazmat option needed) for USPS
Summary: kkreed527 highlighted an issue with eBay's USPS shipping labels not including a Hazmat code when selling perfumes, which caused shipping delays. mr_lincoln responded by explaining how to access a menu on eBay that allows sellers to select Hazmat shipping options, and informed kkreed527 about how to cancel and get a refund for unused labels. kkreed527 expressed appreciation for the guidance and noted the workaround provided was helpful.
For selling perfumes and getting USPS shipping labels from ebay, ebay needs to update their labels for Ground Advantage to include Hazmat. The label I printed did not have a Hazmat code/letter on the label. Its pretty evident, what I sold is perfume (as I categorized it properly).
The USPS worker offered to help me get another label through ebay, but there is no option, just ground advantage for the USPS is only offered (no Hazmat options). Not sure if ebay is aware, but USPS Ground advantage on its own does not inform USPS that there is flammable material in it. This caused me about 20 minutes of trying to cancel the original label, then looking for an option on ebay to ship as Hazmat thru USPS, to conclude, ebay does not have one. Please update ebay, if you want sellers to buy shipping labels from you. It has to be correct.

On the eBay Label flow there is a hazardous / non-hazardous material section with an Edit link on the right (green arrow). Clicking that opens a drop down selectable list of Hazmat shipping choices ... have you tried that yet for perfumes?
If you already purchased a label through eBay that you could not use you have 28 days to cancel using the drop down menu on the left side of the item in question on this page: Track and manage your shipments
Your account will be credited the cost in 21 days or less.

OP3 hours agoThanks! I very much appreciate the quick response. I would expect it to default to hazardous considering my fragances category which are for the most part flammable, but I am happy there is a workaround to my issue. Glad you showed me the way.

You are more than welcome! Since some - many items wind up getting listed in the wrong category PLUS the fact that there are so many categories eBay might have a hard time being accurate and on the hook for mistakes made by Sellers. eBay's label flow has provided a way for Sellers to get it right when they go to print their labels through eBay.
