gross payout not correct and fake accounts running up bids
I have been having 2 issues lately.
1) "Buyers" with ZERO ratings (accounts created within the last day or two normally) running up all my auctions and ghosting out of paying. No consequences for these accounts.
2) Every time this happens Ebay says my Gross has gone up on money I never collected therefore screwing with my 'new' 1099-K Tax forms (thanks government for screwing the normal joe for going over $600/year on any sale)
Can anyone advise on what to do ?

Mentor3 years agoOnly payments that are deposited into your checking account will appear on the 1099.
Items that are not paid for don’t get added.
If you do have to refund a payment ever, that amount would be a deduction, just like all the other expenses (selling fees, postage, supplies).
You only pay taxes on the profit.

Mentor3 years agoAfter four days from the last invoice you can cancel the transaction for nonpayment to give the buyer a strike and prevent feedback from being left. If you cancel earlier or for other reasons, the buyer will not get a strike.
Add the user to your Blocked Buyer List to prevent that particular user from bidding on or buying any more of your listings, regardless of what other sellers do.

Be sure to set your Buyer Requirements to preemptively block bids or purchases from users with two or more unpaid item strikes in the last year.
You can avoid unpaid items by listing your item for a fixed price with immediate payment required and by not accepting offers.
