Gripes with ebay
I've been using ebay for a long time, but it's getting harder and harder to deal with. Some of the gripes I have are as follows: 1. my browser updated yesterday, so I had to signin again on ebay. Well, it just made me go through about 10 capchas to prove I'm not a robot . 2. I recently bought a supposed new in open box battery charger. I plugged it in and use it. It appeared to work fine, so I gave a good review. A couple days later, I realized the charger looked like it was working, but it was actually not charging. There was no way to contact the seller. 3. I used to sell quite a bit on ebay, but now ebay makes it too difficult. I would have to get a new checking account in order to deal with it, which I'm not going to do. 4. I've tried to get credit cards taken out of my account because they're closed out because of fraud, can't do it.
A few years ago, ebay sent representatives out to determine why I bought so much stuff off ebay. They even took a picture of a snowmobile that I had bought. They were very nice and even gave me some promotional items. Well, my opinion of ebay is going south in a hurry.
I tried today to complain directly to ebay. No joy.

Mentor1 year agoRegarding the Captcha issue:
Repeated Captcha requests or failures might be a sign that your browser is having problems saving cookies properly, or else a sign of a network issue. Using a VPN or a hotspot, or certain kinds of privacy software might also cause some issues.
Make sure your browser is up-to-date and has JavaScript enabled (and not blocked) and that cookies are not being blocked:
https://www.whatismybrowser.com/
Try using a different browser or a private or incognito browser window and see if you run into the same Captcha issues. If not, try manually erasing just your eBay cookies once in your original browser.
If you are using an ad blocker, try temporarily disabling it to see if that makes a difference.
Try an alternative link to sign in to rule out an issue with a particular link:
https://signin.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
If you are using a mobile browser, try changing to a different browser mode: mobile, classic or desktop. Try a desktop browser or a mobile browser in desktop mode.
Or try using the eBay app.
If you contact eBay directly, mention ALERT15299 to have your account added to the open ticket.

I am sorry that happened! Even when you leave positive feedback, you can still file a return
You should open a Return Request. The reason could be "Item is defective", "Arrived damaged", "Missing Parts" OR "Doesn't Match photos and description" if the item you got was not what was shown and described.
You can open your return request here. Just click the photo and follow the instructions.
https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/return-item-refund?id=4041
You will be able to print a label from here https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/returning-item/return-shipping?id=4066
-- You can check the status of your case here:
https://www.ebay.com/help/ip?topicId=4667
-- Here is a help page where you can learn more:
https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/resolving-issues-sellers/checking-status-request?id=4667
Do not close your return request until you either have your refund in hand or you have the replacement item. Do not close it because the seller promises you something.

A seller's "no return" policy only applies to "remorse" returns.
If the buyer files a "not as described" return within thirty days, eBay's money back guarantee applies.
https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-items-not-received-refunds-buyers/return-item-refund?id=404...
If the seller does not provide for tracked return shipping, refund the buyer directly or refund once tracking shows the item has been returned to the seller, after three business days, the buyer can ask eBay to step in.

OP1 year agoI tried, but ebay would not allow it. Now it's been too long.

You have 30 days to file a return on eBay. After that, you can file a credit card chargeback if you want.
