Grief from Seller

Question

Contacted seller to let him know that I got charged postage because the post office didn't consider the delivery media mail. I didn't ask for the money from him. He is saying the post office or I am trying to scam him. He said he is going to get me kicked off of buying from ebay because off what I have done. After all of this back and forth I still haven't asked for money but we are trying to scam him. Is there anything I can do?

Unfortunately for you, and really for all eBay buyers from time to time, there is no simple way for you to block that seller. eBay sellers can easily block any buyers for any reasons (or none), but, on eBay, buyers cannot block sellers. Make a note of that seller's eBay ID and vow never to purchase anything from him/her ever again. Then, learn what types of things do qualify for Media Mail prices, according to the rules of the US Postal Service. If you are buying an item such as a pair of shoes*, or a Hallmark-branded Christmas tree ornament*, or a box of fish hooks*, and you see Media Mail as the shipping method -- don't buy it. Your chances of being required to pay postage due on those items are much higher. *BTW, those are not just random things that popped into my brain, but eBay listings I have actually seen within the last year -- with Media Mail shipping prices.

@tsran_88 I am so sorry that you are dealing with a bad seller. Those are empty threats, there is not anyway for a seller to get a buyer removed from the site.

On the message select the 3 dots on the upper right of the screen and select report.

Also report the seller this way>

The seller has violated one of eBayâ€™s policies > Seller sent threatening or abusive messages

Then say briefly in the box what happened. You could include the item number for the listing. These are read by AI on the first go around so it's best to keep it short.

It says block buyers but it will block ANY member.

Do not respond to anymore messages they send if you don't block.

So many sellers do not know the Media Mail shipping rules and USPS is really cracking down on the abuse.

You could have refused it because it was postage due and the seller would have had to refund you. Postage due is the ONLY reason you can refuse a package and still be covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
