Got victimised by misleading description of an item on eBay
I placed an oder for a mantle clock after seeing that the clock was fully functional except that its two hands were only missing, as clearly described in the ad. Payment was promptly made to the seller. But, I requested the seller not to ship the item as the addressee of the shipment won't be available before the last week of March 23. The seller accordingly withheld shipment.
Meanwhile, as I was closely looking at the image I found the clock was without its glass door. I immediately sent a message to the seller seeking clarification whether the clock was being shipped with its glass door. I pointed out that there was no mention of its missing glass in the description though it was clearly described that the clock's two hands were missing. But, the seller did not respond to my message and my subsequent reminders.
Then, I emailed eBay narrating the whole issue. eBay was kind enough to advise me to contact the seller once again to cancel the order. Accordingly, I sent another message to the seller requesting them to cancel the order and make the refund as the item was still lying with them; but the seller was, as usual, still silent. Then I sent another message in reply to the eBay's message that the seller is silent.
Now that the item is still lying with the seller awaiting shipment what course should I take to get the order cancelled and get refund? I would be grateful if anyone in the community could guide me in this regard.
