Got Sold a Counterfeit Item & Seller is Combative
I don't buy too much on eBay, but this week I got sold a counterfeit item. I requested a return and uploaded pictures of the item that I received that shows it's clearly counterfeit. The item I received even had the logo backwards, which was not in the original listing pictures.
The seller responded back accusing me of using an app that made the logo backwards. They said they would dispute it with eBay once they receive the item back because they put a "identifying mark" on the item. The seller also threatened to file an ic3 complaint for internet fraud if it's not from their supply.
The ask eBay to step in button does not show up when I go to the return details. Is there any other option I can do to contact eBay. Should I return the item yet? Any advice what I can do would be much appreciated.

If you filed an official eBay return claim that the item "does not match pictures or description" then you simply follow the steps in the claim until it ends. The seller will have 2 days to refund you once they receive the item back, failing that you go back to the claim and ask eBay to step in.
You do NOT have to be in touch with the Seller during that type of claim process, let the eBay system work for you.

As to the Seller's threats ... ignore them, they are just trying to bully you into not returning the item.
