Got scammed on ebay, lost ebay purchase protection

I placed an order on ebay from a seller in Pakistan. The seller gave a fake tracking number. After 12 days, the seller updated the order with another USPS tracking number which shows the order delivered to my zip code. This too is a fake tracking number because it shows the item shipped from another state is the US and delivered to my inbox.

The item is a big item and it cannot be delivered to the mailbox.

I opened a case with Paypal. Simultaneously called ebay for help and also told them about the fake tracking number. But ebay said that since I opened a case with Paypal, I lost the ebay money back guarantee.

Now, when Paypal contacted ebay, they gave them that (fake) tracking number which shows the item as delivered to my zip code. Paypal closed the case even though I told them that the tracking number is fake.

Now there is no way to contact ebay. I cannot initiate a return because I never received anything. I lost $214.97 due to the inefficiencies of ebay.

    I feel very upset.

Ebay is a platform for scammers.

    Do I have any option?

    Please help.

    UPDATE:

Ebay did not help me at all.

So I went to my local USPS main office and explained them the scam I was facing. I requested them to give me some tracking information which proves that the package was not shipped to me. The USPS supervisor was kind enough to give me a printout of the detailed tracking which contained the recipient address.

Using that details USPS tracking, I appealed the Paypal's decision on my case. After a week of review Paypal closed the case in my favor. I got my refund.

When I tried to leave a negative review (sharing my experience with the seller) , ebay did not post my review. The seller  is still there with 100% positive feedback and waiting for his next victim.

Thank you ebay, thank you for protecting and encouraging the scammers.

You should have filed the case with ebay.  Once you file with Paypal, ebay will no longer help you.  Your last resort is to file a case with the credit card company that you used to pay the seller.

Take the tracking down to the carrier and have them check their GPS coordinates to see exactly where the package was delivered. Then you upload a copy of that letterhead into the credit card chargeback, to get your money back.
