Those "new device" messages are triggered by any sign in from a browser with no eBay cookie for a sign-in from that specific account, or from a network IP-address you have not used previously. Changing your username might trigger that message if the username info is in your eBay cookie.
As long as you are certain that the sign-in corresponds to your own eBay activity you can ignore the message.
