Gift cards as payment
Hello,
I have been instructed by the ebay invoice to load money on gift cards and then send photos of them to the ebay email to purchase a vehicle. I am just curious if this is a legitimate way for the buying process to go seeing as how this is my first time buying.

Mentor1 year agoeBay did not instruct you to do that. A scammer did. NEVER purchase gift cards to pay for anything. NEVER send a picture of a gift card. The money will be gone before you can say help and gift cards cannot be traced. Report the ad, as it has nothing to do with eBay.

This is a scam. Never buy gift cards and give someone the numbers - that is like handing over cash. You can only use eBay gift cards here on ebay.com through checkout. Anything else is a scam.
The email is not from eBay, and you were not shopping on eBay. I bet you found the car on facebook or Craigslist.

Did you find the vehicle on Facebook? If so, eBay is not controlling the payment and the invoice is a fake.
You should not send them any money or gift cards because there probably is not a car.
eBay has their own Motor vehicle site eBay Motors.
You should never pay for a vehicle without the title in hand and don't ever send gift cards, as that is a way to lose your money with no recourse.
