gift card scam
A scam in the works, but I'm not falling for it. Saw a facebook marketplace post for a golf cart. Expressed interest in it, and got a message from the poster who claimed they posted for their "aunt". I expressed interest in coming to see the golf cart, and was informed that I needed to email the "aunt" and get more information. I emailed the "aunt" who claimed to be a widow and her name was "Connie Barnett". She claimed that the golf cart was in a shipping facility that Ebay chose and they would ship the golf cart to me with a 5 day money back inspection. "the golf cart is sealed and has all the keys and paperwork with it". Red flags, I did research on the email address and discovered the same email person claimed to be "Barbara" and very similar claims except the person reporting "Barbara" said Barbara was demanding gift cards once the poster got that far in the transaction. In any event, Barbara, Connie or some Nigerian prince is trying to scam people, so if the story sounds like this, beware of the scam. Connie's email is : ber718car@gmail.com.

Mentor3 years agoThis is a very old SCAM that people fall for every single day. Always a woman with a sob story, stupid low price, pay with gift cards. I really can't believe people lose money like this.
