gift card possible scam
I purchased a Ebay gift card at a large super market. A friend needed $200.00 for groceries and I asked her which card to purchase. She didn't want Amex or Visa but suggested Ebay. Not knowing much about gift cards and nothing about Ebay gift cards I purchased the Ebay card. I send a copy of the card, with the redemption code, the receipt and the Gift Activation Receipt. She called me back and said the card wasn't activated. So I went to the store and told her my story, she instructed me to contact Ebay. I opened my account at Ebay and tried for a balance but it read No Balance. Is this a common way to be ripped off and if so is there anyway I can find out where the card was used. Any experienced help would be great, just to put my mind at rest. Thank you, Joe

Why would your "friend" need an Ebay gift card if she needed to buy groceries? Ebay gift cards are used to pay for purchases made on the Ebay website.
Ebay gift cards are not traceable and are non-refundable.
