Gift card fraud
I was trying to purchase a car on eBay motors and they was asking for more money I said forget it I would like my money back and now I haven’t heard from them. Can I get my money back?

The title of your posting is "Gift card fraud" so, interpreting what you meant by that, the answer is No. When you give a scammer the redemption code from a gift card, the money is sucked out of that card in mere seconds. There's no way to recover the money; that's a main reason that they ask for gift cards. Sorry. I hope you didn't lose a lot.

Mentor2 years agoHi @anisant-94 If you found the car on another site like Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist, report the listing as fraudulent on that site. Take screenshots or photos with your phone of the listings before you report. If it was actually on eBay, and not just "going to be handled through eBay," which is a lie, report it to eBay. If you've already given them gift card codes, unfortunately that money is gone. Gift cards are like cash which is why they ask for them.
You can report the fraud to the Internet Crime Complaint Center, known as IC3, a division of the FBI. You can upload the screenshots or photos of the listings, give them the email address, and any other details you may have. It doesn't have to be some million dollar scam to report to IC3. There have been reports of them recovering even modest amounts. Give it a try. Good luck!
