You have to add it to your account first to view the balance - use the link below.

Keep in mind that once it's added to your account, it can't be used on any other account.

Then you can see the balance in your Payments Wallet and in the checkout page.

To determine the amount on a gift card, you would need to add it to an existing eBay account. Then the amount will be available when you checkout.

This is a recent policy and it was introduced to reduce fraud. It also brings eBay in line with other large selling platforms.
