Getting requests for help from someone I haven't done business with
Someone messaged me through eBay, and I thought they had purchased an item from me, so I attempted to assist them. After numerous messages back and forth, I began to wonder. I looked for their userid and wasn't able to find it among my recent sales, and when I looked for their id I couldn't find it. I am suspecting some sort of scam, I just can't figure out who/what. I looked for help in the 'HELP' section, but can't find anything.
I offered them assistance on the item they said they were having problems with, and they haven't messaged back for awhile, now. I sold two of these items this week, and they are still in transit. This is the first ones I've sold for awhile, and the userid doesn't match any of those.
What should be my next step?

There's no way to know if it is the same person using a different account.
Your only next step on the sold listings is to wait and hope for the best.
I'll cross my fingers for you that everything works out ok.
