Getting refund for item not as described
I received an item that was not as described. The description was that it was used but working and in good condition. The board is broken and it is not working. I sent messages requesting if this could be returned as it didn't match the description of "working" but they only would offer a very small refund. I tried returning but the seller would not accept a return and then reported me when the small refund offer was rejected. There was a case created that says it has been closed and I cannot appeal. The window for me to open a claim with ebay hasn't even opened yet (feb 2nd). How do I contact customer support to discuss how I can get credit of an inaccurate description of "working" for something that doesn't work?

Mentor8 months agoYou can only open one case or request per item so you used your one chance. You should have opened an "Item not as described" case so that the seller would have had to accept the return for the broken item. Keep this in mind for the future.
As for now you will need to go to your payment source and see if you can open a charge back for the item. There are time limits to do this so do it now.

OP8 months agoSo I should not have opened a return request with the description that it was broken and doesn't match the description? I am confused by what I read in the ebay help articles.
Is the return request a 'case'?
I just found the message in my message list indicating the seller opened the 'case' and it has a following message indicating the case was closed that looks to be only a short while later.

OP8 months agoThanks for the advice on requesting a charge back. Another question I need help with: I paid for the item through Paypal via my credit card. Should I go through Paypal or through my credit card to make the claim?
