Getting in Touch with a Seller
Summary: gjp123 received the wrong item from an eBay seller and is struggling to identify the seller due to a lack of information on the packaging. They are seeking help from eBay to cross-reference the seller's store using the name and address provided on the label. gjp123 is also frustrated with eBay's automated support system. stuff4divas suggests using the 'contact seller' option on the purchased item page.
Hi-
I recently received the wrong item from an ebay seller. There was no receipt in the box and his selling ID was not either on the label or in the box. Only, the seller's first and last name and address were on the label.
I need eBay's help in cross referencing his store from his last name so I can track him down and see whether I can get the item I ordered or a refund. I am not able to effectively identify what was not sent b/c I have ordered a good number of items over the last month.
I have also concluded that it is not possible to get a live person to help and eBay's automated response system on both chat and phone is sub-standard.
Thanks for any help.

Mentor1 month ago@gjp123 I am so sorry you've had issues.
I have an easy answer for you that will get results! Even if you messaged the seller, please do this. It protects you, does not harm the seller as long as they comply, where messaging will not protect you.
From My eBay:
View your list of Purchases and click "..." or More actions.
Select Return this Item. Select wrong item was sent. You can tell the seller you just want the correct item. However, if Seller doesn't respond and get you the correct item, or pay for you to return and provide a full refund, in a reasonable amount of time, eBay will force a full refund and no return. If you and the seller work a deal, the case won't be escalated unless you request it to be.
Working in messages for this issue will not protect you. I'm a seller and a buyer. Opening a Return Request is best for both of you.
Good luck! I hope it gets worked out quickly. Usually this happens when seller is sending out multiple orders and mixes up the labels (might have sent your order to another buyer).
