Getting ebay to take down pirated copyright products
I work for a publisher and purchased a product from an Indian seller. The product was a counterfeit copy of one of our books. It was reprinted without permission of the author or copyright holder and sold as new under the same product ISBN illegally. We reached out to eBay and an AI assistant dismissed our claim. Do we need to seek legal counsel or is there another way this issue can be rectified? I see no way to contact the company other than the chat bot to address this need directly. Thank you.

Mentor6 months agoYour company will need to join the eBay Vero (Verified Rights Owner) program in order to control the listing of their items. They will need to provide proof of their rights to the items they wish to control. Once they are accepted into the program then they can report violations of their rights and eBay will remove the listings. Until that time eBay can do nothing so contacting customer service about this will do no good. However, you can contact customer service to find out how to get into the VeRO program.
You can contact customer service using this link and ask for a call back: eBay Customer Service Customer service is open from 5am to 9pm Pacific Time. Unfortunately you will still need to answer the AI bot questions in order to get help. eBay removed our way to get around the questions so you may need to ask for “Agent” several times before the system gets the message and lets you ask for the call back.

You can register for VeRO program and then report the counterfeit listings through that program.
