Getting charged a transaction fee on cancellation order

Question

Can anyone please explain why I would get charged when someone canceled something I was selling. I had someone buy an item from me and then immediately canceled because they did not realize it was local pick up. I have no problem with canceling but it looks like I am going to get charged $36 for doing so. The price of the item was $250. Cannot get a hold of anyone at eBay other than the chat. Is this normal?

When you cancel a transaction at buyer's request, eBay automatically credits back your final value fees in full once a paid order is successfully canceled at buyers request.

Hi @pa393290

First- Buyers can only request a cancellation and Sellers can decline that request.

Next, you have 4 choices to cancel but only 3 before the 5 day In the case of an unpaid Auction or Accepted offer) The reasons are:

-Buyer requested (No strike on your account and you get your fees back)

-Problem with address

-Out of stock (your account gets a strike)

AFTER 4 DAYS

-Buyer hasn't paid
