Getting back a damaged in shipping item
An item I sold was damaged in shipping. How do I get that item back? Who pays for the return of the item, me or the post office? The post office damaged the item in shipping.

Ask the buyer for pix of the box and item, and ask them to open a not as described return. Also ask them to hold the item and the box until you hear about your claim - they may have to take it to their PO.
Accept the return and have eBay provide the label. Ask the buyer to let you know when they print the label, then refund the buyer through the return.
File your claim at usps.com. If needed, ask the buyer to take the item and box in for inspection. As soon as the claim is paid, or denied after you file an appeal, then ask the buyer to ship the item back to you.
