Getting a cancelled sale removed from my sales totals
I had a buyer cancel a sale before I shipped. Ebay still counts this item as part of my (taxable) sales, although they do recognize that the buyer cancelled. How do I get it removed from my sales totals? I don't want to pay taxes on this non-sale. Thanks!

·2 years agoeBay uses different calculations of "sales" for different things. For reporting to the IRS anything the buyer paid (other than sales tax) is reported. Any later refund will be something to deduct, e.g. on your Schedule C. If transaction was cancelled (the buyer cannot cancel--the seller either has to do so at his/her request or acquiesce by not replying in 3 days under very narrow circumstances) without payment it is not reported.
