·2 years agoAll fixed-price listings are now "Good 'til Cancelled" which mean they autorenew each month (on the same date and time as they started except adjustments for those scheduled to renew on the 29th to 31st if that date is not in the particular month) unless the listing ends before then (someone buys the single item--whether a multiple item listing ends when the quantity gets down to 0 depends on your settings for that situation--or you manually end it early or eBay removes the listing due to a problem).

Mentor2 years ago@greg12345 Things have changed while you have been away. The eBay Authenticity Guaranteed program is not optional. If eBay says an item qualifies for the program then there is no opting in or out.
eBay provides a Free to YOU 14.95 Fed Ex label for Authenticity Guaranteed sneakers. You can NOT offer free shipping on sneakers that qualify for the Authenticity Guarantee program. The only thing you can do if you want to offer "free shipping" is to reduce to the asking price.
You can read about the program here>

Buy It Now listings have always been 30 days, not 3 days. Buy It Now listings are good until canceled or sold and renew automatically.
You can do an AUCTION listing for 3 days which I do NOT recommend. It has a fee of $1 due to the special duration. Also since listings can take 24 to 30 hours before they can be searched for on the site you lose a lot of selling time that you are paying extra for. Buyers prefer Buy It Now listings now a days.
Since you have been away are you aware of how payouts work now?

All buyers payments are managed by eBay and sent to your linked checking account. eBay doesn't offer the debit card payout option at first.
1. Make sure that the ACH routing number is the correct one to use for deposits to your checking account. Sometimes banks have different ones for this type of deposit.
2 .The bank account must be a brick and mortar checking account, not a virtual one.
3. Your registered name and address on your eBay account must match your checking account and government ID exactly. You can not use a PO box for your registration but you can use it for your ship from and to addresses.
I had to add my middle name to my eBay account.
John B Doe is not the same as John Brian Doe.
You can confirm or update your eBay account information here:
https://accountsettings.ebay.com/profile
4. Enter your backup payment method for selling costs here: https://ppcapp.ebay.com/myppc/wallet/list
AND Select Manage under the method you want to use then select Preferred for selling costs.

OP2 years agoThank you. Wow, you really know your eBay, but I will share that I just got off the phone with eBay at 866-540-3229 and they told me how to work around the required authentication. Just select "Customize" and the program is gone.

Mentor2 years ago@greg12345 That is NOT good advice that you were given by the rep it may cause issues in the long run with your sale.
The Authenticity program is not only for the buyer but it protects the seller too. Your no returns policy is for buyers remorse returns ONLY.
If the buyer SAYS it's not as described even if it's not true eBay WILL require you to accept the return and pay return shipping. The buyer can send back a different item and you will not have any way to prove to eBay that you shipped the item that was shown in the listing. eBay will force a refund from you.
With the Authenticity Guaranteed Program it's much harder for a buyer to file a refund request when you select FINAL SALE AND if for some reason eBay allows the return the shoes are FIRST returned to the Authenticity center before being shipped to you so a buyer can't pull a fast one.
Also I want to mention the funds hold policy that you may not be aware of.
Funds are usually released a couple of weeks after tracking that you upload to eBay shows delivery to the buyer but may be held up to 30 days. So be sure to use tracking and if the sale totals $750 or more get a signature on delivery.
You can see the fund holds policy on this page> https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold/payments-hold?id=4816&st=
All payouts are sent to your linked AND verified checking account.

Mentor2 years ago@greg12345 You're welcome. I hope everything goes smoothly for you.
By the way it's also a policy violation to say something is customized when it's not just to avoid the authenticity guaranteed program. Not likely that the bots will catch you.
This is why it's best to take advice from experienced members and only contact CS if you have an account issue.

OP2 years agoI am glad I detailed what I did and who told me to do it in my description.

Mentor2 years ago@greg12345. Who told you won't protect you from a false MBG return though. Or stop the item for being taken down for a policy violation if the bots catch you.
